How to Choose a Netbook - Practical Tips

With a plethora of netbooks available in the market, choosing the right one for you is indeed a daunting task. And with newer netbooks launching every week, the danger of a particular netbook becoming outdated is looming large on every netbook buyers mind. Thus its important to take a decision of buying a netbook by considering all the pros and cons, and having a clear mind on what features you want in your ideal machine.
Okay so coming on to what factors you should take into consideration before deciding to go for a netbook. The primary factor you should consider is the weight of the netbook, since it is for you to decide what purpose your netbook is going to serve and where you are going to use it. For example, if you want a netbook for casual browsing at home, then the weight doesn't have much significance. However if you want one for use while travelling, it's better to choose the lightest available netbook so that it doesn't cause a strain on your back while carrying it in a backpack and also allows you to conveniently carry it around with you wherever you go.
Another factor, and undoubtedly the most important one, to look for in a netbook is its battery life. It doesn't make much sense to buy a netbook that provides only up to 3-4 hours of battery life, since you will have to charge it frequently, and in case you are out travelling or have some important work to do, then it won't serve much purpose. The primary reason why netbooks became popular in the first case was because of their light weight and long battery life, and a netbook doesn't offer any one of them, then it's better to go for a laptop instead!
The third critical factor to consider when buying a netbook is the amount of connectivity options it offers. Generally most netbooks come with the standard ones - Bluetooth, Wireless Internet Wi-Fi connectivity, 2 or 3 USB 2.0 ports, one or two VGA ports, and occasionally Multi in one card reader and a HDMI port. However you need to carefully ensure that the netbook offers the number of connectivity options it claims to have. And whatever netbook you go for, always make sure it has at least Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and few USB ports if not more, since these are the ones that are going to be the most useful in daily use.
